In the 2010s, "multi-author blogs" (MABs) have developed, with posts written by large numbers of authors and sometimes professionally edited. MABs from newspapers, other media outlets, universities, think tanks,advocacy groups, and similar institutions account for an increasing quantity of blog traffic. The rise ofTwitter and other "microblogging" systems helps integrate MABs and single-author blogs into the news media.Blog can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

So What Is a Blog?

Let’s begin with some definitions. A bit dry, we realize, but this is a necessary evil. First we’ll define the word this whole site is based around– blog.

A blog is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary. It is a place to express yourself to the world. A place to share your thoughts and your passions. Really, it’s anything you want it to be. For our purposes we’ll say that a blog isyour own website that you are going to update on an ongoing basis.
