Batman Arkham Dev Denies Superman Game Rumors

Rumors have circulated for some time that Rocksteady Games, the developer of the core Batman Arkham series, was at work on a new Superman game. With The Game Awards coming up next week and promising 10 new game announcements , there had been some speculation that such a project could be announced during the show. In fact, Rocksteady won't announce a new game at the show, nor is its in-development project a Superman game, according to the studio. Rocksteady game director Sefton Hill tempered expectations on Twitter, stating, "Looking forward to #TheGameAwards this year! We're still hard at work in our development bunker so don't expect an announcement from @Rocksteadygames. When it's ready to show, you'll be the first to know. Spoiler: it's not Superman." Happy Death Day 2U Trailer Delivers Awesome Time-Loop Horror

Happy Death Day was one of last year's biggest horror surprises--a smart, funny, scary slasher riff on Groundhog Day, about a woman who found herself trapped in a daily loop in which she was killed by a masked psycho. The sequel is titled Happy Death Day 2U and it arrives in February next year. The first trailer has now been released. Jessica Rothe returns as unlucky student Tree, who seemingly broke the loop at the end of the first movie when she killed her murderous rival Lori. Unfortunately as the trailer reveals, the loop has restarted, with Lori somehow alive within it and out for revenge. Within a few years, Netflix has grown from a service that streams movies and shows made by other studio and companies to a major, prolific producer of its own content. The budgets for its own output matches that of its Hollywood rivals, and it continues to disrupt traditional, decades-old way of doing things. Red Dead 2 Online Now Live For All Players On PS4 And Xbox One

Following a gradual rollout over the course of the week, Red Dead Redemption 2 's online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, is now available to all PS4 and Xbox One players. Blade Runner Anime Series Is Happening

Blade Runner 2049 may not have been a big box office success, but it was an ambitious, visually stunning movie that was very well received by critics . And while a third movie might not be happening any time soon, it has been reported that an anime series based on the films is in development. According to Variety , the show will be titled Blade Runner: Black Lotus, and will consist of 13 30-minute episodes. The show will take place in 2032--so between the original movie and the sequel--and will "include some established characters from the Blade Runner universe." Black Lotus is a joint venture between Alcon Television Group, who own the rights to Blade Runner, Adult Swim, and anime streaming platform Crunchroll. Adult Swim will distribute the English dubbed version of the series worldwide (excluding Asia), while subscribers to Crunchyroll will be able to stream the show there. Epic Games' plans to allow players to merge their Fortnite accounts--V-Bucks and all--across multiple platforms have been delayed. Originally due out by the end of the month, Epic has confirmed that the account merging feature won't be available in 2018. Epic shared the news on Fortnite's website , saying the ability to merge accounts will not go live until "early next year." It didn't explain what exactly was causing the hold-up, only citing "ongoing technical concerns." "We want to make sure that this process is thoroughly tested and working properly before releasing it to those of you currently looking to transfer purchases from other accounts to your primary account," it said. You may soon have the chance to try out the new Destiny -esque action game from BioWare, Anthem . EA has announced an upcoming closed alpha test, and sign-ups for it are now live. As outlined on EA's website , the test will be quite brief--it'll run from December 8-9, though it'll be available on all three of the game's platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC. One of the first images on the screen at the start of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is an "Approved By The Comics Code Authority" stamp, trailing right behind a glitched out slideshow of different studio logos. Dying Too Fast In Battlefield 5? EA Is Planning Some Changes

The first major update is coming to Battlefield V next week alongside the the launch of the World War II game's Tides of War event. While the full patch notes have not been released yet, developer DICE has started to provide some insight into what you can expect for this update and ones to come on a further-out timeline. Writing on Reddit , the studio said one of the more notable changes has to do with the Time to Kill (TTK) and TTD (Time to Death) elements. DICE is observing that players are dying too often/too quickly, and are getting frustrated as a result. Netflix Cancels Another Marvel Show -- Daredevil Gets The Ax

The Marvel Netflix show Daredevil has been canceled. It becomes the third Marvel show on Netflix to get canceled in two months, following the axing of Iron Fist and Luke Cage in October. In a statement to Deadline , Netflix confirmed Daredevil's third season, which premiered in October, was its last. "We are tremendously proud of the show's last and final season and although it's painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note." Netflix thanked showrunner Erik Oleson, as well as the writers, cast, and crew, while the network also said it was grateful to the fans who watched the show since it premiered in 2015. Fallout 76, Black Ops 4 Underperform At GameStop

Two major new releases, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Fallout 76 , failed to sell up to expectation at GameStop, the retailer announced today in its latest earnings report. CFO Rob Lloyd said Black Ops 4 was "not as successful as we had hoped." For Fallout 76, the executive said the game's review scores likely hurt sales. "Obviously, you can see in the market what the Metacritic scores are around Fallout 76, and that's impacted its sell-through. I'll probably just leave it at that." Some of the sports games that released in August and September were also "not up to our expectations" in regards to sales, Lloyd explained. Tom Hanks Could Play Geppetto In Disney's Live-Action Remake

Tom Hanks is one of Hollywood's biggest names, and now his next role has potentially been revealed. Collider reports that Hanks is being eyed to play Geppetto in Disney's upcoming live-action Pinocchio movie. Geppetto is the toymaker who builds Pinocchio out of wood, and then wishes on a star for Pinocchio to come to life. Magically, it works. Disney's live-action Pinocchio is being directed by Paddington's Paul King, with Star Wars: Rogue One writer Chris Weitz producing. Paddington writer Simon Farnaby wrote the newest draft of the script, taking over for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child writer Jack Thorne. Yet another video game industry group has come out to say government control of loot box regulations is a bad idea. International Game Developers Association (IGDA) CEO Jen MacLean released a statement this week where she called on developers and publishers to take this issue seriously to avoid a scenario where politicians get involved and put forth legislative action that could impact games with loot box mechanics. Pokemon Go Brings Back Six Legendaries For December's Field Research

December is almost here, which means Niantic will soon roll out a new batch of Field Research tasks for Pokemon Go . As usual, if you complete enough of these before the month ends, you'll earn an encounter with a rare Pokemon. This time around, however, the developer is giving players another chance to catch not one, but six previously featured Legendaries. Each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough in December, you'll earn another chance to capture one of six Legendaries: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, or Suicune. Each of these Pokemon was featured with previous Field Research tasks this year, making this a good opportunity to catch any of the ones you missed the first time around (or simply add more Legendaries to your collection). Arrow-verse Elseworlds Crossover Photos: 34 Images Of The Massive Event

The TV shows of the Arrow-verse are preparing to crossover once again. This time, though, Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl aren't content playing in their own worlds. Microsoft has notched three more Xbox One backwards compatible games to its growing list. This trio includes a cult favorite action-RPG, a Sonic game, and a game based on a pair of famous movie properties. The three additions are Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning , Sonic Unleashed , and Aliens vs Predator . Amalur was a single-player RPG developed by Big Huge Games and the now-defunct 38 Studios . Dragon Age Announcement Coming Soon, BioWare Teases

The Dragon Age franchise has been quiet since 2014's Dragon Age: Inquisition , but that's set to change soon. BioWare's Casey Hudson says that the company is preparing to say more about its plans for the series sometime in December. "If you've been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we're also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff," Hudson said on the BioWare blog . "Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we're excited to continue its legacy. Fortnite 's Week 10 challenges have arrived on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile, which means Season 6 of the hit battle royale game is winding down.
