If you have an Xbox Live Gold subscription and you have yet to download two of the Games With Gold for August 2018, time's running out. As usual, Microsoft's freebies are available during staggered windows throughout each month. Come August 31, you'll no longer be able to download Forza Horizon 2 and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two for free. To grab your games, either visit Microsoft's Games With Gold page online or from your Xbox One's home screen.
Forza Horizon 2 is one of the Xbox One games available in August. It's an open-world racing game from 2014 that's set in Southern France and Northern Italy. It has the Forza series' realistic-feeling cars, but also offers many features typically found in arcade-style racing games (like a set of races that pit your car against an airplane). This game is going to be delisted from the Microsoft Store soon, so this is one of your last chances to grab it.
Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is an Xbox 360 game that's also playable on Xbox One thanks to backwards compatibility. It finds Mickey back in the Wasteland, home to all the retired and forgotten Disney characters of yore. A series of earthquakes has turned the place to rubble, so it's your job to use a magical paintbrush to put it back together.
Also available to download for Xbox Live Gold members is Ubisoft's medieval brawler For Honor. It will be free between now and September 15.
Though we're losing two freebies on August 31, September 1 will bring with it a new batch of yet-to-be-announced games for free.
